    Blogging on the Fly

Before we set out for Indonesia, I was thinking of blogging on the fly for once. So I brought along my trusty , 3-year-old white MacBook, Branca. But lugging Branca around has proven to be difficult. At 2.27kg, she weighs almost a third of my hand-carry baggage allowance!  Not good for my bad back at all. That’s why I’ve been contemplating on getting a slimmer and lighter laptop. The MacBook Air looks ridiculously good. At a little over 1kg, it is a scoliotic travel blogger’s dream machine. There are really nice PC laptops, too, but I still prefer Macs.  One reason is that it’s virus free.  For someone who…

The Top 10 Natural Wonders in the Philippines

Some weeks ago, I was invited by the TV show “Ang Pinaka”  to talk about the Top 10 Natural Wonders in the Philippines. Below is a short article about it. Unfortunately, my appearance in this article has been greatly reduced to a few short (and corny) lines.  I assure you, though, that I gave a much more substantial interview on the show. 🙂  (And no, I’m not being defensive haha) They also spelled my name incorrectly. Another disclaimer:  I know there are so many other natural wonders around the country that we were not…

    My Christmas Home

Sorry for being in such a Christmassy mood but I just can’t help it! I love decorating my home during  Christmas season so here are a few photos taken around my house featuring some of my Dapitan finds. 🙂 This is the living room. I had to restrain myself from decorating too much. I’ve had these faux fruits since forever. The greens are from SM. A DIY arrangement. After seeing the short film Rare Exports, I will never look at Father Christmasses the same way again. Damn you Jalmari Helander! (Seriously, I loved the 2 films and can’t wait for the full-length version.) The maple leaf garland is made from…

    Paris (not) in Tokyo

If you’ve been recently denied a VISA to Japan, don’t fret.  Even famous celebrities are denied the pleasure of seeing the land of the rising sun… Paris Hilton was denied entry to Japan today, two days after she pleaded guilty to a drug charge in Las Vegas. Japan has strict immigration laws that bar entry to those convicted of drug offences, although exceptions are occasionally granted. “I’m going back home, and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future,” Hilton told reporters before departing on her private jet. The 29-year-old celebrity socialite had been due to appear today at a news conference in Tokyo to promote her…
