  • This monster of a lugaw (porridge) bowl has everything on it: fried tofu, hard boiled egg, tuwalya (tripe), bagnet, and toasted garlic to help control your cholesterol levels. 😜 The resto is a hole-in-the-wall somewhere in Don Antonio. I couldn’t finish the whole bowl!

  • FOOTNOTE: Somewhere in Spain, one is expected to look down to be reminded of the past. For some, that’s the only way one can ever move forward.

  • 2014. On a short trip to Paris, I very much wanted to go to #museedorsay to see the Van Gogh paintings, particularly the 1889 self-portrait which features the now famous swirly brush strokes. It is widely believed to be his last self-portrait before ending his life. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t have enough time nor money to buy a ticket. I had to contend myself with a photo of the museum ‘s facade. Looking back, I remember feeling sorry for myself. So I promised to go back not just to look at one painting but to see all. Some 3 years later, I managed to return to Europe and see not just a few Van Goghs but a whole building full of them—at the @vangoghmuseum ! You see, things always work out in the end. ❤️ And that’s my happy thought for the day. 😊

  • Vincent Van Gogh loved writing to his brother, Theo. I guess in a way, it was therapeutic for him. He wrote to Theo extensively about his creative process and would often even sketch his ideas. @vangoghalive.experience @vangoghmuseum @vangoghthelife
