European Food & Wine Fest slated at Rockwell
MANILA, Philippines – The much-awaited European Food and Wine Festival is slated on May 16-17 at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City. On opening day, the activities, which start at 10:30 a.m., include food and wine selling, cooking presentations and for the wine aficionados, a free wine appreciation seminar by La Camara’s very own Sherwin Lao to understand all there is to know about wines. Learn how to taste wine and describe its aroma, color and taste, and in addition, understand how to pair food and wine. At 7 p.m. that day, the various European national chambers will hold their annual Networking Night to enable their members to mingle and network. Around 300 businessmen are expected to join the event. On May 17, bring the family to enjoy sumptuous lunch and enjoy the kiddie activities. La Camara, which will occupy a total of 10 booths and convert these into a Spanish enclave, will sell popular grocery items (Amoroso Brandy from Jerez, sausages, candies, olive oil, sardines, cheese, wine, etc.) at prices lower than those in supermarkets.
Gaudi, Alba and Barcino, the popular Spanish restaurants, will have their mouth-watering specialties cooked on-site. The public is given assurance that the best and most in-demand products of Europe will be on sale, and that the event will further boost business relations between the Philippines and the European countries. British pies, German sausages, French pastries and Spanish tapas and delicacies may be had without having to fly to Europe. Choice wines and food offerings from various European countries will be on sale during the two days and nights of the event.
