I have been so busy with work and grad school for the past couple of weeks that I missed September! Good thing I’m done with my final exams (yay!). What a relief! Now, I’m ready to face the next big thing… Christmas Season.
I know, I know. Some of you may be saying ‘Isn’t it a bit too early to think about that now?’ But if you live in Manila, you’d know how crazy the city gets during Christmas season. I mean, ‘chaotic’ doesn’t even begin to describe it. The traffic and the crowds would make anyone want to just stay home. And don’t get me started on overcharging taxi drivers!
So each year, I write my list in advance and try to buy or scout around for gifts as early as October. Christmas bazaars are aplenty around the Metro. One of my favorites, of course, is Greenhills. Then there’s the ever-reliable Dapitan.
But recently, I discovered that shopping online is not such a bad idea, especially if you don’t have time to deliver your gift in person. Some stores even recommend gifts for you, much like what a personal shopper would do. Others, such as Zalora’s Christmas Bazaar, make a list of recommended gifts. Hubby and I checked out some websites and found a lot of items we would like to see under our Christmas tree this December (ahrrmm… hint hint 😉 ) So here’s our Christmas wish list.
Thule Crossover Nylon Rolling Upright with laptop compartment
This suitcase is made by THULE, same makers of the famous carriers and racks brand. Hubby, who favors anything related to 4X4 vehicles, thinks it looks so sturdy and durable, perfect for harabas travelling.
New Balance 8710
This cool looking pair by New Balance is described as “made for the outdoorsy type, with its round laces and d-ring eyelets, plus leather and mesh upper. The sole also has grooves for better traction, all in a very hip and cool package!” Need I say more?
Paccube Packing Cubes
We have an Eagle Creek packing cube but this colorful set from Paccube is just so adorable. And pretty, too! But if you want a more serious-looking set of packing cubes and pouches, check these out…
Tom Binh Travel Stuff Sack and Clear Organizer Pouches
These organizer pouches are color-coded so it’s easier to organize your toiletries, chargers and batteries, and magazines.
The Stuff Sack, on the other hand, can stow and compress even the bulkiest of clothes so you can fit everything in your pack or suitcase.
Vonzipper Fulton
This is definitely my favorite in this Christmas wish list. I recently lost my Rayban Wayfarers at the airport coming home from Spain (makes me cry just thinking about it!). So I’ve been looking for a replacement pair. Nothing will ever replace my Wayfays but I really have to move on. Hubby spotted these Vonzips on Zalora. It’s the same model as Tony Stark’s sunnies! Yesterday, we saw the same pair in Landmark and I have to tell you, it looks even better up close. It’s a bit pricey but it looks like it’s worth every cent.
However you want to do your Christmas shopping, make sure you have plenty of lead time so you can avoid the Christmas rush. And remember, whatever your gift is, it’s always the thought that counts. 😉
I want the stuff sack!!! where can I buy? 🙂
Virns, check it out here: http://www.tombihn.com/PROD/TB1251.html 🙂
What’s the better brand for you PinayTraveller, NB or Merrell?
Hey Virns, NB 🙂 Pero that’s the preference of my hubby. My favorite is KEEN.:)
Come on, I already have my Christmas wish list prepared!;) No travelling gadgets this time though… Well, maybe except for the tickets. I’d accept a ticket to anywhere at anytime, not only on Christmas:))
Hahaha. Me, too! Tickets are great all-year round gifts!
