    Weekend Shopping in Dapitan

It’s almost Christmas! If you want to do your Christmas shopping,  do it now. For bargain-hunters, I recommend that you go to Dapitan.  Shops there have a wide variety of items:  from Christmas decors to household items  to even some of the weirdest things you’ll ever see. Last weekend, Hubby and I went there to look for Christmas decors.  It was a bit crowded.  I guess everyone had the same idea! But I was able to bring home some wonderful decors. Here are some photos of my weekend bargain-hunting. Enjoy! The capiz bowls-turned-vases are so  cute! The Christmas tree ornaments are made from resin and are between 50-80 bucks a…

    My Christmas Home

Sorry for being in such a Christmassy mood but I just can’t help it! I love decorating my home during  Christmas season so here are a few photos taken around my house featuring some of my Dapitan finds. 🙂 This is the living room. I had to restrain myself from decorating too much. I’ve had these faux fruits since forever. The greens are from SM. A DIY arrangement. (Seriously, I loved the 2 films and can’t wait for the full-length version.) The maple leaf garland is made from…

And nothing compares to the joy I feel whenever I visit Manila’s very own Christmas street– the mecca of craft/home-decor bargain-hunters– Dapitan Shopping Arcade or simply, Dapitan. I recently visited Dapitan with my fellow Dapitan pilgrim, Nanay. We braved the Sunday crowd in search of (cheap) Christmas decors to add to our collection and we were not disappointed. Dapitan is an export-overrun paradise. Much of what you’ll find here come from exporters for huge companies like Crate & Barrel and Macy’s.  Stocks are usually rejected for minor flaws but if you’re willing to overlook these imperfections,…

    Barcelona’s Christmas Street

This day last year, I was taking a walk along Calle Sant Sever in Barcelona when I chanced upon these wonderful stalls selling Christmas decors. I am embarrassed to admit that it was the first time I have ever seen Christmas decors made from real and fresh (read: not plastic) pine leaves, branches, twigs and berries! I was so… merry! 🙂 We just don’t get these things in tropical Pilipinas. These stalls were right next to the Barcelona Cathedral. I don’t know exactly what these were but they’re awfully cute. I wish I can make a wreath from fresh materials. This is just gorgeous!  And fragrant, too! I wanted to…
