Are you tired of the same old daily newscast? Do you think you can create a newscast that is fresh, inspiring and totally out of the box? If so, we want to see your newscast!
If you’re a Mass Communication, Journalism or Broadcasting student from a university in Metro Manila, show us how you can innovate on the style and presentation of news broadcasts currently aired on major Philippine TV stations.
Create a 15- to 20-minute newscast consisting of three segments of your choice. These can be news and current affairs, sports, showbiz, weather, or human interest features, and even commentary. You can be as creative and original as you want, just as long as you don’t compromise the content of your newscast.
So take the traditional newscast to the next level and send your entry (in DVD format) to Jesuit Communications Foundation, Sonolux Building, Seminary Drive, Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City on or before January 30, 2011.
The top 10 entries will be screened on February 19, 2011 at the Leong Hall in Ateneo de Manila University. Winners of First, Second and Third Prize will be announced on the same day during the Awarding Ceremonies at 3 pm.
Entry forms can be downloaded from www.jescom.ph/content/breaking-news and must be submitted with your DVD. Entries submitted without an entry form and/or received after the deadline will not be considered. For more information, please call 426-59-71 or 72 local 125.
