Here’s a documentary about a London bus driver who went to Manila to experience being a jeepney driver. The link was sent to me by my sis-in-law who lives in the UK but I never got to see it in full. And then a couple of days ago, I found out that the Manila leg was produced by a friend of mine so I got really curious.
Confronted by the realities of life in crowded Manila, I found it painful to watch. But I also admire the two protagonists here–Josh whose heart only matches his size, and Rogelio whose spirit is unmistakably Filipino: resilient, kind and always up for a good laugh. If you’re going to Manila, this will be a good start off point to learn about our country. (Good job, Inky!)
